Insulin is the hormone which is central to the metabolism of fat and regulation of carbohydrates in the body. It actually helps fat tissues, liver and muscles to take up the glucose from blood and further store it as glycogen. It also helps the use of fat as a source for energy. When the level of glucose falls below a certain level, then the body makes use of the same and gets into something called as glycogenolysis. All these and many more are all benefits of glucose which can actually help in retaining the nutrients level in the body and that too as and when required.
